Bat Cave

The first night in Fredericksburg I saw on one of the maps that there was a bat cave near by. Each night 3million bats came out of the tunnel. This was awesome. We had been wanting to take the kids to Mason or Austin to watch the bat emerge, this was perfect, we were already here. The drive to the bat cave was a beautiful adventure. Late afternoon, deer everywhere, and a winding hilly road made for a BEAUTIFUL trip. We were surprised at how crowded the actual wildlife mgt area was, after driving down a long winding road not seeing very many cars. Here are some pics from the observation deck, sorry they are not so good, but it was late afternoon and the actually pic of the bats was right at dusk and I didn't have a tripod....enjoy!
